We're thrilled to share that we've signed up with our first charity partner, Rainforest Trust UK.
This is a really exciting collaboration for us as by collaborating with the charity, we can help tackle climate issues on the ground by protecting the rainforest.
So, a bit more about Rainforest Trust. The charity has a fantastic mission - to protect threatened tropical forests and endangered wildlife worldwide by partnering with local and community organisations in and around vulnerable areas. At Rainforest Trust, 100% of donations go directly towards the conservation projects.
Our new partnership will mean that every customer who places an order through our site will be helping save rainforests across the globe. Every three months, we'll get an update on the amount of rainforest we've saved, and we'll be sure to keep you update via our email and social channels - stay tuned!
Why the rainforest?
Tropical deforestation accounts for up to 15% of net global carbon emissions each year – the same as every car, truck, bus, plane, ship and train on the planet. Safeguarding existing rainforests is one of the most efficient and cost-effective ways an individual can fight climate change, as every acre safely stores over 100 tonnes of carbon that could otherwise enter the atmosphere as the greenhouse gas CO2. Studies have shown that halting tropical deforestation and allowing for regrowth could mitigate up to 50% of net global carbon emissions in the next 30 years – yet rainforests are still being cut down at a rate of 70,000 acres a day. And as well as storing billions of tonnes of carbon, the world’s rainforests produce 20% of the planet’s oxygen, stabilise global weather patterns, provide habitat for thousands of endangered species and sustain the livelihoods of millions of indigenous people. In short, we can’t really live without them.

Rainforest Trust is one of the world’s most respected and successful conservation charities, and works in partnership with trusted local NGOs and indigenous communities to save the world’s most threatened rainforests and tropical ecosystems. Rainforest Trust has been protecting rainforests for over 30 years and has already placed over 24 million acres of threatened habitat under permanent protection. All donations to the charity’s SAVES Challenge conservation projects are doubled by a generous supporter, meaning every pound donated will save twice as much rainforest for endangered species, indigenous communities and the climate. Rainforest Trust UK also guarantees that 100% of all donations are directed towards direct conservation action as all its operating expenses are covered by its board members and Gift Aid.
