Why we love them

These reusable Unpaper Towels are the perfect washable and sustainable alternative to kitchen roll, and are also a great swap for washcloths, polishing and mopping up spills too! The birds-eye weave of this cotton means that they’re super absorbent and totally great for wiping down surfaces – unlike paper towels which can be a nightmare for just smearing around muck! Being handmade in the UK, they’re top quality and will last you for years, saving you money pretty quickly – win-win!

Tabitha Eve recycles and reuses as much of their studio waste as possible, with lots of their scraps going to local schools, playgroups and other independent businesses. They’re also moving towards organic materials and always request that their raw materials are delivered in as little plastic as possible.

Why swap

Paper towels have become a way of life for lots of us, with around 80 rolls being used per person, per year – wow! Producing all that paper consumes a lot of resources. In fact, to make one ton of paper towels, 17 trees are cut down and 20,000 gallons of water consumed. 51,000 trees are cut down to meet the daily demand for single-use paper towels. On top of that, most paper towels come packaged in disposable plastic too!

These Unpaper Towels are a fantastic reusable option to clean up spills and splashes without creating so much disposable waste every day.

How to care for them

Wash on cool and hang to dry. It is normal for this fabric to shrink up to 15% upon first wash. When you think they have reached the end, cut up into scraps and put into the compost bin.
