Why we love them

We all know that leftover food should be covered to stop the spread of germs in the fridge, but (finally!) that doesn’t mean you need to reach for the cling film.

These reusable bowl covers are a great plastic-free alternative to cling film and are perfect for covering any leftovers and bowls to keep food fresh. They’re made using cotton and natural rubber which means they’re completely biodegradable, so you don’t need to worry about leaving any traces on our wonderful planet. On top of that, they’re so much prettier than clingfilm too!

Tabitha Eve recycles and reuses as much of their studio waste as possible, with lots of their scraps going to local schools, playgroups, and other independent businesses. They’re also moving towards organic materials and always request that their raw materials are delivered in as little plastic as possible.

Why swap

More than 1.2 billion meters, equating to 745,000 miles, of cling film, is used by households across Britain every year – that’s enough to go around the circumference of the world 30 times over!

It’s difficult to recycle and information about where you can actually cling film means that the majority of it still ends up in landfill – or worse, in the ocean!

Like plastic bags, cling film that ends up in the sea is easily confused for jellyfish by marine animals and chokes turtles and other creatures that feed on them.

Swapping to these fabulous cotton bowl covers helps you reduce all that disposable plastic waste.

How to care for them

Wash on 30°C and lay to dry on a flat surface. Do not tumble dry.
