Why we love it
We love this plastic-free sun cream because it contains only natural ingredients and moisturises whilst protecting skin from the sun at a perfect SPF25. Plus, it comes in a handy 100ml travel size tin so no problems with liquid restrictions at the airport!
This 3-year award-winning sun cream from Shade is non-greasy, 100% natural ingredients and a little goes a long way (example: a pea-sized amount will cover a forearm). This is a great product for sensitive skin with no chemicals like regular sun creams.
When you swim with conventional sunscreen on, chemicals like oxybenzone can seep into the water, where they’re absorbed by corals. These substances contain nanoparticles that can disrupt coral’s reproduction and growth cycles, ultimately leading to bleaching.
Even if you don’t swim after applying sunscreen, it can go down drains when you shower. Aerosol versions of sunscreen can spray large amounts of the product onto the sand, where it gets washed into our oceans.
With an estimated 14,000 tons of sunscreen ending up in coral reefs each year, it's important to swap to products that won't harm underwater ecosystems.
Apply generously. Works immediately. Reapply regularly at least every 2-3 hours or after exposure to water or after sweating. Check out our blog for more information on how to use natural sunscreens safely. Once opened, use Shade within 12 months, otherwise, it has a shelf life of three years.
