Which eco-deodorant is right for you?

Which eco-deodorant is right for you?

Ready to switch to an eco-friendly deodorant, but not sure where to start? You’re in luck! We’ve compiled a list of the best deodorants on the market, and exactly who they work for. Whether it’s sensitive skin, an active lifestyle or a penchant for patchouli – whatever your requirements, we’ve got the info you need to find your new fave!

For sensitive skin and length of product life - Live Coco

Live Coco’s natural crystallised potassium salt deodorant might be the most simple of any deodorant on this list. But simple doesn’t mean boring – no siree, not here! This deodorant is super effective at preventing the growth of bacteria (which essentially is what causes odour). One stick can last anywhere from 6-12 months depending on how often you use it, and provides super long-lasting protection. Now that’s what we call value for money!

Crystal Salt Natural Deodorant Stick
Eco benefits: plastic-free (made from cork and paper), totally natural, vegan, cruelty-free.

Ideal if you want: a deodorant designed for sensitive skin, an extra long-lasting product, no fragrance.

For natural soothing - Natural Deodorant Balm

Our natural balms are perfect for anyone wanting their deodorant to be as close to nature as possible, whilst still prioritising skin-friendliness. These balms are designed to work with your body, and be as gentle as possible to skin.

Using a calming blend of pure essential oils, shea butter and coconut oil, they work by neutralising odour from sweat and absorbing moisture, rather than blocking sweat altogether (which is how none-eco deodorants work). This means that our natural toxin elimination system gets to work properly without interference!

Available in Rose & Geranium, Sicilian Bergamot and Patchouli & Orange scents.

For long-lasting protection - Nuud

Nuud deodorant uses microsilver to kill germs and seriously target body odour. One application of Nuud can prevent you from smelling for up to seven whole days - yup, you read that right, seven days (and that includes exercising and those who are more prone to sweating!). It’s aluminium-free, and contains no vague chemicals or alcohol.

Nuud is also doctor approved! Dr. Annie, who compares products using scientific methods, tested several deodorants against each other to see which decreased bacterial growth and which stopped BO the best. Dr. Annie found that “Nuud is the natural deodorant that inhibited bacterial growth the most ”. As she explains, "inhibiting bacterial growth is one of the mechanisms by which deodorants keep you from stinking", and that “Nuud prevented BO for days!”.

Nuud Natural Vegan Deodorant

Eco benefits: vegan, chemical free, cruelty free, bioplastic sugar cane tube & biodegradable box, sustainably produced and sourced.

Ideal if you want: a long-lasting and unscented deodorant that doesn’t clash with your perfume or cologne, protection for whatever life throws at you.

I have been using a crystal salt deodorant for ages but find that it irritating to my skin. If I scratch and break the skin I hit the roof when using the deodorant. Would your crystal stick deodorant be kinder to my skin?

What I’d find helpful would be to mention what kind of material they are -solid, cream, spray, or what? And so what method of application is needed.

I have been using Nuud for a good couple of years now and absolutely love it. I’m ready to try something new now though so this article is very useful! Thanks.
