Our customers have been loving our new Antibacterial Cleaning Sachets! And that's no surprise, we do too. But for anyone who hasn't caught onto the latest eco-cleaning trend and are left wondering what's so great about them, we can't wait to tell you more!
1. They’re plastic free
These sachets are made using naturally derived plant extracts and materials, including pure essential oils wherever possible. As if that wasn’t good enough, the sachet casing is made using Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) which is fully water soluble and non-toxic, so there’s no risk to the environment, aquatic life or our land animals. The PVA the manufacturers use has been approved for use in pharmaceuticals, meaning it’s a much safer alternative to plastic.
The move from traditional, disposable plastic cleaning bottles to these water-soluble sachets could dramatically help reduce the world's plastic pollution. In 2016, less than half of all plastic bottles were collected for recycling and only 7% of those were turned into new bottles. By switching to these water soluble sachets, all you need to do is add this the sachet into a rinsed and reused bottle and shake, and you can help eliminate single-use plastic.
2. They smell amazing!
These fabulous cleaning sachets come in a range of gorgeous scents! The bathroom cleaner is ylang-ylang, kitchen cleaner is coconut & lime, glass cleaner is apple & mint and the floor cleaner is sandalwood. The pack also comes with a low odour kitchen oven cleaner. This might only sound like a small thing, but we’re sure you’d prefer to smell this than chemical-based cleaning products or eco-household-favourite, vinegar!
3. They’re made in the UK
This is an entirely UK based product! The complete process from product development to sachet manufacturing is done under one roof in the heart of the West Midlands by a small team of highly skilled staff to ensure the highest quality and lowest carbon footprint possible.
Products which are made outside the UK are shipped sometimes hundreds or thousands of miles to arrive here. The more food miles accumulated during transportation, the more fossil fuels are consumed, and the more carbon emissions made. Choosing products made in the UK helps alleviate our dependence on fossil fuels, reduce air pollution and cut back on greenhouse gas emissions.
4. They’re vegan and cruelty free
Neither the manufacturers nor any of their ingredient suppliers test (or ever will!) on animals and all their ingredients are vegan friendly too. Worldwide, an estimated 500,000 animals are still suffering for cleaning products, including some in the UK. But public information on animal testing for household cleaning products or toiletries can be confusing, if visible at all.
Manufacturers may claim on the labels that items were ‘not tested on animals’, referring to just the final product, but ingredients could still have been tested. That’s why it’s so important to shop with companies who are transparent about their ingredients and supply chain, like this one.
5. The packaging is great!
The boxes these sachets come in are compact and space saving which helps minimise pollution from delivery and prevents waste through damage in the post. They’re made of recycled card and include an instruction insert which is made from recycled paper. And of course, both can be popped into your household recycling bin to minimise waste or alternatively put in your home composting bin for a truly zero waste option.
